Les Houches, 1,010m

Departure at 8am from the Bellevue campsite, and start of the climb to the Col de Voza after a stop at the bakery for breakfast.

Les Houches

Col de Voza, 1.657m

We stop for a coffee at the Col before heading down the other side, towards Bionnassay on a track, then through the forest, along the road and along the river to Contamines. We had originally planned to do the variant via the Col du Tricot, but we were still feeling tired, and I had some big stages ahead of me in the next few days, so we decided to stick to the classic route for a shorter day.

Col de Voza

Les Contamines, 1,150

We climb up to Les Contamines from the river to do some shopping at the supermarket, then join the river again to go to Camping le Pontet, some 30 minutes further on.

Camping le Pontet

The campsite is between Les Contamines and Notre Dame de la Gorge, making it the perfect location. No need to book, they have bivouac sites reserved for the TMB and GR5.
